Maplesoft has announced a new release of its flagship product, Maple, the technical computing software for mathematicians, engineers and scientists. Maple 16 features interactive assistants, palettes, context-sensitive menus, tutors and other Clickable Math tools that provide a point-and-click interface for solving, visualising and exploring mathematical problems. Using Drag-to-Solve, users can solve equations step-by-step by dragging individual terms and expressions can be explored. Smart Popups instantly show mathematical identities, plots and factorisations for the highlighted expression, helping the user choose the next operation to perform.
Further features include enhancements to visualisation, such as a smart plot view that automatically focuses on points of interest; more than 100 new Math Apps to provide insight into concepts from math, statistics, physics and finance; new statistical algorithms and visualisations; and faster performance on both core Maple operations and calculations using multiple cores and multi-threading.
